Civic Club Events February MBCC Meeting - Thursday, Feb. 2nd, 7:00 p.m., Montie Beach Community Center March MBCC Meeting - Thursday, Mar. 1st, 7:00 p.m., Montie Beach Community Center April MBCC Meeting - Thursday, Apr. 5th, 7:00 p.m., Montie Beach Community Center May MBCC Meeting - Thursday, May 3rd, 7:00 p.m., Montie Beach Community Center | Other Area Events Running Group - A group of Montie Beach neighbors have started a running group that meets Monday nights at 6:45 p.m. for a 7:00 p.m. run. They run around the neighborhood at a casual pace (9 - 10 minute mile pace) with a 3 mile course that weaves in and out of neighborhood streets and includes two laps around Montie Beach Park. The group welcomes everyone including our favorite four legged friends. Walkers are encouraged to join where a shorter course will enable runners and walkers to meet up at a few different points along the path. The group currently meets at the intersection of Northwood Street and Gardner Street. They head directly north on Northwood Street and run into Montie Beach Park where they do two laps. Any late comers can try to meet up and join them in the park while they are doing laps. Local tint distributor, Solar Control Films, will contribute shirts to the first 20 Montie Beach runners! Remember Monday nights at 6:45 p.m.. P.I.P. Meetings - Positive Interaction Program is a monthly, public meeting held by the Houston Police Department so citizen’s can have a voice and be informed about area crime. Meetings are held on the 4th Wednesday of each month at Greater Heights Super Neigh-borhood Council (GHSNC) - Meets every 3rd Tuesday from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. at the Historic Houston Heights Fire Station and City Hall, located at Yale St. and W. 12th St., Houston, TX 77008.
