Bienvenidos amigos! The Montie Beach Civic Club is excited for the 5th Anniversary of Day of the Dead (“Dia de los Muertos”) in the Heights. The festival will be held at Montie Beach Park on November 2, 2019 from 12:00pm - 8:00pm.
The focus of this festival has been and will be to provide residents within the Greater Heights a fun and educational Dia de los Muertos experience. Some consider Dia de los Muertos to be among the most vibrant in Latin America and in keeping with that tradition; the performers for this event will be curated to give the audience an immersion of Latin American sights and sounds. In addition, we will be partnering with nearby Elementary school kids and provide interactive exhibits that detail the rich culture and significance of Dia de los Muertos to the Latin American community.
100% of the profits generated from this Event will go towards the Montie Beach Park Improvement Initiative (Montie Beach Civic Club in partnership with the Houston Parks Board).
If you are interested in participating in this years festival please contact us.
On behalf of the Montie Beach Civic Club and the surrounding neighbors; we could not have done this without your support. Your generosity goes further than just providing the means to have this festival.
It provides an outlet for area residents to experience the city’s multiculturalism, with respect to the Latin-American community. To some residents, the festival provides a way to reconnect to their roots; and to others it provides the means to improve the urban park where the festival will be held.
